Delete your account

You can delete your Wordscene account and the data saved with it at any time. If you never signed in, you don't have an account. See Deleting your data instead.

In the app

  1. Open Wordscene and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Delete account, then confirm.
  3. If you signed in with Apple, Apple will ask you to confirm.

Your account is deleted right away. You can't undo this.

Without the app

  1. Email support@wordscene.app with the subject Delete my account.
  2. Send it from the email address of your account, or tell us that address. If you used Hide My Email with Apple, you can find that address in your Apple account settings.
  3. We delete your account within 30 days and reply to confirm.

Apple doesn't always share an email address with us. If we can't find your account this way, sign in to the app and delete it in Settings.

What we delete

If you delete in the app after signing in with Apple, we also remove Wordscene's access to your Apple account.

What can remain

We make private backups of our app content. These also include word corrections, requests with any email address you added, and anonymous identifiers, so a copy of these can remain in a backup until that backup is deleted. We don't use these copies for anything except restoring the service. Our backups don't include your saved progress or your sign-in details.

Our hosting providers' short-term backups and Cloudflare's security logs expire on their own and aren't used to identify you.

Progress on your other devices stays on those devices, but it is no longer saved anywhere else. To remove it, delete the app on that device.
